Victorian restoration

   Before restoration

Bill & Mary Chatigny purchased this tired 1884 Victorian in 1993 and began the restoration in spring of ‘94. The summer of 1997 was spent re-building the front porch and enclosing it. Although Victorian homes generally did not have enclosed entries, we felt it was necessary because of street noise and the need to have a warmer front hall. Bill custom built the doors, windows, most moldings, as well as the stair spindles, posts, and finials.

We were honored with an Innovation in Construction Award for Best Historic Renovation under $100,000 by Building & Remodeling News in March,1998.
